Thanks. You found a bug in CHDK. It should be fixed in autobuild 5834 and later, which will be on the autobuilds within the next hour or so.

Hello,
Thank you. The update to CHDK has resolved the issue. Though for this camera the A550 need to hit 'rec' to get a display. Then shoot as required.

ps. Norton 360 is now deleting the CHDKPTP.exe file for the following reason. 1. https://app.assembla.com/ is listed as being an unreliable site.

Thanks for mentioning that. I'd expect the main issue is that it's an unsigned executable. Google used to label the downloads as dangerous too, though it seems to have stopped.

*shrug* I can't control the heuristics others use to guess what is malware.

Is it possible to use GetTickCount instead of GetTickCount64 to be compatible with Win XP?

AFAIK, chdkptp doesn't use either directly, so it's using whatever the libraries it was linked to use. I'm not going to put effort into supporting an OS that was EOL'd 7 years ago, but maybe if you build with sufficiently old versions of mingw, iup/cd or libusb-win32 it will work.

Grep the source and you will see the string GetTickCount isn't present, so it must be pulled in from a library or a header. But again, I'm not going to expend any effort trying to support XP.

Here video is upper/2 only in HD & FHD, <rec> & <play>.
Edit: 2nd Bat tells only fisheye is full fine but flickering.

Could someone please help me with installing the ptp app? I've downloaded zadig and tried to install libusb but don't think I did it properly because my Bluetooth icon is missing. More importantly, the ptpcam command line immediately closes when opening.

 ;) ... You installed the right driver on the wrong device, need to undo if You need bluetooth. Then list all devices, choose canon, ... ,unplug & restart cam, retry ptp...  :-[
