Different video formats and frame sizes

I'm brand new to this, just heard about it on Lifehacker.com, and I'm TOTALLY excited.

I would love to be able to record video in alternative file types (.mov, .dv, .h264, .mp4, etc) and bigger frame sizes (720x480 and up).  I'm so not a programmer...is this even remotely possible?

Also, can I use CHDK on my SD400?

Cheers,
Justin

Frame size might be possible (note the current discussion about TX1 video upscaling). As for using alternate video codecs (what you call "file types") I'd say no chance, since the necessary hardware just isn't in the camera.

Hi doublejnyc,
There's a very well running port for Ixus 50 = SD400 with firmware 101a & 101b here:

http://chdk.setepontos.com/index.php/topic,986.0.html

This port ("ixus50_sd400_trunk_v005.zip") work's fine on my SD400 with firmware 101b, it's great work done by mproko.
The USB remote feature works perfect, some information for testing the script feature (and some sample scripts)  you can find there too...
