Hi lrossel,
you can find all versions also here: CHDK wikia: CHDK-Shell, try version 1.82...

The 1.83 version (checked both, from the original DL page and also from drop.io, they are identical) runs fine on my systems (all Windows XP Pro SP3), so what's your system & windows version ?

Wow... the version 182 shows me the same error... something I'm doing wrong with the installation process.

Maybe I have to keep working with the 181... :(

Issue solved, just moved the new exec file to the folder with the version 181 originally installed and run OK.

Sorry to bother with so stupid issue.

Ahhh - now i can confirm it:

In a new installation without a source code dir (in \trunk\trunkXXX) i'm getting the same error message. After copying the sources (e.g. #552 in in \trunk\trunk552) the chdk-shell starts normal.
So CHDK-Shell fails while reading the cameras/fw list from the source tree when there are no sources there...

No, nothing stupid - you found a little bug & also a solution for it, that's a fine beta testing workflow  :)
