S95 - blinking led while shooting video

S95 - blinking led while shooting video

Hello everybody,
is it possible to make the front led blinking while shooting a video? I'm trying to use a radio usb remote but there is no feedback on camera status (recording or not) if you cannot see the rear LCD.

Very possible with a simple script.  Do you need to be able to make adjustments to the camera ( zoom position, focus, etc) while recording or is a simple start & stop sufficient?

Thanks for your reply! I just need to start & stop video recording with the usb remote and have some feedback on camera status using the front led. And, I have to do it many (5-10) times without the ability to operate the camera (just the remote).

Check back here later ? I'll try to post something today / tonight.  Some camera's have issues with the LED's being correctly configured - we can fix that too if necessary.

Here you go - give this a try?  You'll have to figure out the LED number for the AF lamp by trial and error.  I think the S95 uses values from 0 to 3.

It works! led is number 7 on the s95. Thank you. :D
I added at exit of the inner loop a short blink to confirm recording has stopped.

Glad it meets your needs. 

Just an FYI .. with the way you made the change, if the LED happens to be already ON when you press the USB switch to halt recording, you won't see a "blink".
