Title: How to find out the number of shots on G1X ?
Post by: evox on 17 / June / 2012, 22:44:20
On Canon G1X the Func + Disp does not show the total shots information, I have tried all the combinations with the ver.req and vers.req file.

Works on my G10 - 4700 shots.  Most of those the cost of doing a camera port as there were only about 200 when I bought the camera on eBay.

Did you find any documentation to indicate that sequences works for the G1X ?

Update :  you have to press the Func/Set button and hold it, and then quickly press the DISP button repeatedly to get the three different information screens - one of which has the shot count.

The ver.req/vers.req display does not appear to be supported on the G1X.

The 'vers.req' code is not in the firmware at all, and although the 'ver.req' code is still there, I have not found any way to trigger it. It is not referenced the same way as it is in other cameras so it is difficult to trace how it could be activated (if it can be at all).
