Timelapse video on a Canon A560 / triggering the video record?

Hi,

I'm in the process of writing a script that alternates between shooting timelapse photographs, then shooting video for a couple of minutes, then shoots more timelapse photographs etc. I can get the timelapse photos working fine, and I can figure out how to alternate between two sub-routines that handle the photography and the video, what I can't seem to figure out is how to make the camera shoot video in the first place?

The camera I'm using is a Canon A560. The video seems to be accessed only by the wheel on the top of the camera so I can't use a 'click "button_name"' approach. Is there a 'set_' function that will do the job that I've just completely missed?

I've been searching the forum and the CHDK page for a couple of days now trying to get my head around this, any help pointing me in the right direction would be appreciated.

Many thanks,

Adam
