I love soldering - and I have enough USB cables here. ;)

Maybe I can build the power-stuff for the final 40 cameras by my own. All I need is 4.3 Volts with 1,5 Ampere on the batteryslot? So maybe I can wire it fixed with soldering 2 cables on every camera?

Technically that can work.  Find one of those inexpensive little LM2596 switching supplies :

and mount one on each camera.  Distribute 12V bulk between the cameras.  The tricky bit is getting a good solder joint deep inside the battery comparment.  You might also be able to find just the "fake battery" part of the external power supply on eBAY and work with that.

Wow - I love your CAD work. Looks like the actual AutoCAD releas ;)

I will build that and send you a photo from my work.

Thanks for your work - Laura

I guess the only caution is that some vendors might not conform to the red=VCC & black=GND color codes.

You'll need to confirm that :

That is 60 amps total !
That is a lot and will require more than one power supply.
If you go that route, try and find a Chinese supplier who can give you a more sensible price for fourty of these :-

That's why I suggested something like :

Based on a idea that I believe you originally posted.

For reference, that one won't fit her new carmeras.

All those Chinese units have CE mark certification logo's on their cases but who knows how real that is.
:) China Export http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:CE_marks.jpg

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CE_marking
Nasty!  So the CE on mine clearly stands for Chinese Export.   Back in the 1950's there was an urban legend that Japan changed the name of  one of their towns to USA so that they could mark products as "Made in USA" (back when Japan meant cheap shoddy goods).  This beats that hands down.

I suppose the RoHS markings mean something like "Really only Half Soldered"?

According to page 140 of the A2300 Canon manual it will.

The A2300 comes with an NB-11L rechargable battery.  The link you posted is for a "AA" battery type camera.  Like the A1300 and A800 referenced at the top of page 140.

fair enough, page 138 gives the correct adapter.

Does not help when a single manual is for six different cameras.
