Where to go from here ?

OK, so, my first post here.. its 5am and I have been reading the whole night and I have to say I am even more lost now, then I was before, I think
So, I dont remember when I last used point and shot camera, I have small photo business and I use 550D that is perfect for my job that I am doing at the moment. But, I need to make time lapse video, and then I decided to search my options, since I dont want to ruin my shutter on my dslr. So, what I need is P&S that will be able to get good quality pics ( I did read here raw is different and that there is chdk raw options  ), to be able to put my camera on tripod, I dont need video on my camera, SDHC card would be good to have, my budget is 300$, i need camera with good battery life or at least decent, camera that would be able to take pics at least every 3 seconds ( min for my time lapse ) , some kind of wide angle, if its possible, bit no need if the price is lower, long exposure shots, intervalometer ( but I guess thats in the chdk ? ) That are some of the things I need and I can remember them right now...Basicly I need P&S only for time lapse, I will edit and post process everything later

So, can anyone point me in direction, where to go, read, or make new post on this forum, or anyone can give me some camera models to look for that meet my criteria ?

That pretty much describes every Canon P&S camera - assuming they are supported by CHDK.

Some of it is a little bit out of date but for the most part this will steer you in the correct direction :

or make new post on this forum,
You seem to have figured out how to do that successfully already.

Ah - the fun part.  For $300 you can get a very nice Canon P&S. Not quite as nice as the G15 or G1X if you want to spend a little more.  But still very nice.   The list of currently ported cameras is on the front page of the wiki :  http://chdk.wikia.com/wiki/CHDK
Sadly. most are no longer for sale "new" so look at the ones in the News/History box to see the latest releases.  The SX240 or SX260 might be a good place to start looking for new.  Or look for an S90 / S95 / G11 / G12 used on eBay or a similiar site.   All the models I've just listed are well supported by CHDK.

Tnx for the fast reply :)) I am still awake and still reading this :)
I found 240 and 260 but its kinda low battery life around 230 pics with no gps ( i don't need gps ) , so I guess 240 would  be better option, for the price
I cant afford G15 or G1X or SX50, but is there anything in between 240 and lets say G15 ? :)
I know I am asking too much, but I am kinda in hurry, need to start shooting the day after tomorrow and I dont have much time left to buy camera and put CHDK and get to know it :D

I have found SX40, used, would that be good choice also ?
and I see that: "CHDK is available for the Powershot SX40HS with firmware versions 1.00D, 1.00F, 1.00G and 1.00I from the Download page. "

Aparat je sam po sebi odlican, samo trazi da ti prije kupovine posalju sliku napravljenu na tom aparatu da vidis da li radi a odmah mozes odrediti i verziju firmwarea.

pozdrav!

The SX40 is a fine camera - lots of satified users on the dpreview forum.

As blackhole suggests, checking the camera by getting a sample photo first is a good idea.  If the firmware version of the camera is not currently supported,  we can fix that but it might not be quick enough to fit your timeline.

Indoors or outdoors ?

First part , or lets say it the one I have to do this week would be indoors, and I am sure I will not be able to get P&S ill use my dslr. I am guessing around 400 pics on each location inside ( 5 locations ) , and because low light maybe better to use DSLR with my 30mm 1.4 Sigma, but after that, next week, I think all shots and places will be outside, plus I think I will add some night sky and make it maybe little fancy ( to try to impress the guys :D )
I hope to finish the time lapse with 5 mins, but and I dont think going over 10 seconds for each shot, well, it will all depends on the music

Looks like that camera is gone, so I will probably go with new SX40. Its cheaper than SX50, and I dont need the additional zoom , and well, the price is lower. But still looking for other options
