AAAhh! Strange things happen!!
I just downloaded Allbets's last version, and everything is allright! the script run fast (I mean the delay between two consecutive shots). Well, I believe there will still remain a part of mystery for people like me (beotians :D)

I'm confused  :blink:
At first I was sure that i did ISO 1600 and ISO 60 pics with my A710is. Now I'm almost sure Ithe cam isn't able to.
I thought I was ISO 1600 shooting as the pics I shoot afterward with ISO 800 (normal ISO options) was darker. But I noticed that the second picture wasn't shot with ISO 800 but with ISO ? althoug Overwrite ISO was set on 0.
If I first shoot with ISO 800 and then Overwrite with 1600 i get two identical pics. At least I did so yesterday. I have to look through my tests and sort that out... realy confused at the moment...  :'( :blink: :-X :lol :-*

Look back through the pages of posts in this thread. It's already been reported that something was changed in the most recent AllBest build which induced some ISO problems. He's working on it.

A related problem from the first build was reported HERE under General Help and Assistance. When he tried to fix that then the new problem cropped up.

I was to lazy to copy the new firmware, so I'm still using v8. I went through my first tests and I have ONE (yes only one) proof for ISO 1600. I have a ISO 800 pic (at least Exif says so) and a brighter image with same shutterspeed.
But I'm not able to reproduce that (maybe I have more proofs in my old tests, I just searched till I found one). A friend of mine has the same cam and the same problem.
I'll test the v10 these days to see if something has changed.

rossig
Hi, Rossig!
Key words for search:
GetBvResult -> PROPCASE_BV
GetAvResult -> PROPCASE_AV
GetTvResult -> PROPCASE_TV
GetDeltaGainResul ->  PROPCASE_DELTA_SV
GetSvResult -> PROPCASE_SV
GetSvFixResult -> PROPCASE_SV_MARKET
GetTargetDistanceResult -> PROPCASE_SUBJECT_DIST1

Searching in code I found  props below. Only one I'm unable to find PROPCASE_MIN_AV, but I think I have correctly find it in "live" props. If You kindly tell me the real name of prop, I will search for it in code.

 #define PROPCASE_USER_TV                   264
 #define PROPCASE_TV                       262
 #define PROPCASE_USER_AV                     26
 #define PROPCASE_AV                        23
 #define PROPCASE_MIN_AV                      25
 #define PROPCASE_SV                        246
 #define PROPCASE_DELTA_SV                  79
 #define PROPCASE_SV_MARKET                 247
 #define PROPCASE_BV                        34
 #define PROPCASE_SUBJECT_DIST1             245
 #define PROPCASE_SUBJECT_DIST2             65

Thanks

Any COMMENTS?

In the Maker Notes in the EXIF, I see:

Pics1
IMG1 = 1/98,105
IMG2 = 1/49,452
IMG3 = 1/9,955
IMG4 = 1/3,298

Pics2
IMG1-4 = Maker Notes missing

Pics 3
IMG1-4 = Exposure Time missing from Maker Notes

I trust you've seen the high-speed shutter tests up at the Wikia?

(I can't see those speeds in my Maker Notes for the S3 build of AllBest's, something got changed in the build I think, I could get those speeds in EWAVR's code that Fingalo implemented though.

Ooops, I take that back AllBest FIXED IT! YAY!!!)

Is anyone familiar with the command-line features of EXIFTools? It would now be simple to copy the "ExposureTime" from Maker Notes to "ExposureTime" of EXIF.

I'll look into it today to see what I come up with. A simple BAT file should be able to process all files in a directory.

Interesting. I just took a photo with +5 Av value set, camera displays "AV: 15.71", and got "FNumber" of 16 in Maker Notes too!

Cool, this will be an easy way to set all the override values into the original EXIF.

ISO-Override set to 3200, I get "Auto ISO 2415" in Maker Notes too.

I guess the override is being recorded in the Auto ISO entry. Nice! Well, sort of. The previous frame where I tested the f-stop reading, was set on ISO200 (camera setting) and AutoISO in maker notes says 100. So, there's some correlation, but it's not accurate right now. (I suspect the ISO override bugs being worked out.)

If anyone else wants to see these special camera settings, just get

EXIFTools and EXIFTools GUI

All the override settings are being stored in the Maker Notes area.

Hey barn,As far as the values are missing..i dnt know bcos they are the RAW processed jpegs..dunno perhaps cant tk the EXIF data fully  ::)
btw...can anyone tellme which raynox lenses to get for my S3 IS??? i wnna wide-converter and a tele-converter and what other stuff do i ve to buy to put those on..i mean the lens adapter and things like that.......and the price pls in USD or GBP...;)

Dear Allbest,
1. xlnt
2. thank you & all before

3. on S3 build 100a-10 of Dec. 9 2007:

    shooting Video:   with zebra on: with default parameters  + histogram on
    half pressing the shutter brings both zebra & histogram into view
    while videorecording.
This is priceless.
    BUT, the zebra shows completely BELOW  the over-exposed part of the image

    when Video is not recorded, Zebra shows spot on.

So in effect, there are 3 types of data? "Market Value", "Real Value", and "EXIF Maker Notes Value"?
Hellow, Barney! :)  Real values exists ONLY inside of the firmware (Canon use THIS values in calculation of exposure). Market values are on the box and in  exif including Maker notes (there is some relation between real and market values: i-m=k*i-r) :)
Additional. Some intresting info about new values in the build u can see here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/APEX_system#. This link may be published on the corresponding page about the build.

256 "Exposure control (no flash)"
257 "Exposure control (no flash)->"
So I suspect that it's some as-yet unimplemented new feature from AllBest,
Hi, Woodsman!
That's true! Sorry!
And further... ALL features of Fingalo (THANKS!!!) are included in my build (and remote control -too) ;-)
