Well, I honestly cannot see any obvious difference.

Of course, a bit of sharpening could also be applied to the jpg image.

Another go with the raw file, lightroom 5.

The raw file has some more detail and also it doesn't have as much "rough" highlights (specular whites are softer in the raw file).

When we mentioned calibrate the monitor, on these two links describe how this can be done without hardware additions.

Do you honestly prefer the lower-contrast, less detailed RAW version in the animation below ? :-

Jpg looks better but there is a lot artifacts from the sharpening, which program did you use?

The problem is this way there's no way to calibrate appropriate level of each R,G,B channel without hardware. And this is maybe more important while talking about colors:)

On this old PC (that I like because it runs XP and is connected to a large flat TV), I only have PaintShop Pro 9.
It does not support DNG.

So, I opened the JPG in PSP and the DNG with IrfanView.
I then saved the DNG as a BMP and pasted as a new layer over the JPG.

For proper calibration of monitor you need a hardware calibrator, if you do not have a hardware calibrator this can help you, you can get a better color than if do not use any calibration, use google translator.
