Buy a new A560 to use with CHDK ?

Hi everyone, I am looking to buy a cheap camera that is compatible with CHDK. Is the A560 a good choice for that? Does it work well with CHDK? Are all the features available? What alternative cameras could you recommend for someone on a tight budget?

Hej,
I think it would be good to put some extra 30 euros to get the 570 IS, not only because of IS but also because there are more manual controls on A570 IS than A560.
It's the same with A580 I think : no MF, no Tv/Av modes.

I got the A540 which has the full manual controls and PSAM modes and it's kinda fun to play with CHDK already ^^

You also may consider A710 IS and A720 IS which arn't much more expensive than A5xx and you get more zoom (up to 210mm).

Don't know really which one got which CHDK feature yet, but I assume they will have them all soon enough and then you are down to cams limitations, and for that matter A710/A720 > A570/A590 > A560/A580 I believe.

Just to give this thread a proper ending:
I bought the A560 since it's price point was too convincing and so far I do not regret my decision. It does not have manual focus or av mode, but I don't need those on this camera anyway. I found I didn't miss the tv mode either, because of being able to set tv and iso via chdk.
I wanted a cheap compact camera that I am not afraid of taking to outdoor activities and parties or even strapping to remote controlled vehicles (or as I call them: my personal air, land and water forces ;) ) and that I could toy around with writing scripts and experimenting with HDR photography.
I come from a rather dated background of having used a Canon AE1 camera for the past couple of years that I inherited from my dad and while it's a great camera I felt it wasn't really suited for outdoor sports and other fast paced activities.
