@reyalp

Just tested and, as you say, fixed on the G7X.

Many, many thanks :)

As you my other cams. When you get a change I'd welcome the fix appearing on G1X-100g and G5X-101e  ;)

Do I assume that this fix will propagate through to other cams in a 'bulk update' process?

Once again, thanks for your very quick fix.

Cheers

Garry

Yes, I'll add it the autobuild after I'm satisfied it doesn't break anything horribly, but as I said, it needs more testing.

I've already realized it isn't a complete fix, a half press end release without shooting will still end up in the wrong state if ISO override is set. Probably still better than the existing behavior though.

I checked in a fix, trunk autobuild 5415. Unlike the patch posted in this thread, it should handle half press without shooting.

@reyalp

Great. Many thanks.

BTW I see 5413 online. Just for my education, will 5415 magically appear?

Also, have you managed to incorporate the DoF fix or my proposed histogram tweak ;-)

Cheers

Yes, it's there now. The autobuild usually updates within half an hour or so.

Not yet, I'll try to get to those next. Testing the ISO thing took a lot of time.

@reyalp

Thanks. As I said, I didn't know the process.

BTW is there a way for me to keep all my settings and update my cameras?

In other words, what's are the files I need to change out, and those I can keep?

I've been hesitant to do this so far, as I don't know if there are check sums in play.

Settings are stored in the .CFG files in the CHDK directory. No CFG files are included in the builds, so you can just unzip the new build into the root of the card, overwriting all existing files with the same names. You can also back up your settings by saving the CFG files.
New builds should load CFGs from any previous 1.5 (or 1.4) build without issues.
Don't forget what the H stands for.
