What are the limits of what can be done with these scripts ?

I am about to buy a 40D.  I would like to be able to tune the focal lengths of the lenses on a 40D ala a D300.  Do you think its possible to do that ?

What about implementing an Auto ISO system ? ala the Nikon DSLRs ?

Why do you say you doubt you will see anyone providing this for the DSLRs ?  Why wouldn't one want SLRs to be supported ?  The Nikon D300 has a lot of functionality that the 40D doesn't.

Once one understands how CHDK works, how much work is it to hack a new camera, ie 40D or D9 ?
