yeah, i have just installed in my camera. it is working smoothly till now.  if something goes wrong, I will try these. thanks
It would still be nice to get a dump so that we can confirm things.  Then the CHDK autobuild / repository can be updated to make the release available for both versions.  (Important if someone is installing using STICK).

Checked CHDK DL for IXUS 132 / ELPH 115 IS
ixus132_elph115-100b-1.3.0-3478-full_ALPHA.zip  (759KB)

Will there be a new ver for the IXUS 132 / ELPH 115 IS soon?

Gene

Would like to use Focus Bracketing with the ELPH 115.

Read man that CHDK needs manual focus for Focus Bracketing to work.

Was not able to find how to do this for the ELPH 115.

Thanks

Gene

There are several ways to do focus bracketing with CHDK.  Using the CHDK menu choices may require that the camera be in MF or AFL mode and have the self timer enabled. Currently, this code is under revision as it does not work well on all cameras.

But you can also use CHDK scripting, which has been updated in CHDK 1.3.0 to have much better manual focus capability. There are quite a few focus bracketing scripts on this forum and the CHDK wiki. Here is an example :

waterwingz,

Thanks for the script link.

This is new to me.  Googled and found http://chdk.wikia.com/wiki/Scripts

Also found http://www.dpreview.com/articles/9780512447/focus-bracketing-scripts-for-macro-setting-and-for-closeup-lenses but that is different because is bas

Any links to more info for focus.lua?

Decided to search for more info on focus.lua by Googling "CHDK User Written Scripts"

Found http://chdk.wikia.com/wiki/User_Written_Scripts  which had Focus Bracketing with set_focus and get_focus which are older bas scripts.

Did not find any lua scripts in "Focus & Depth of Field StackingEdit
Focus Bracketing with set_focus and get_focus
Technical Aspects of Stacking Macro Images
Macro DOFstacker
Yet another DOF stacker (Best of the bunch for macro! IMHO)
Focus Bracketing v1.1 (deprecated - uses manual focus button pushes)" section

Even checked http://chdk.wikia.com/wiki/Category:Scripts  but did not find focus.lua

It's just a simple script I wrote for testing focus at various distances a couple of days ago. You can change the number of images taken and the focus point by editing the table called distance at the start of the script.

waterwingz,

"It's just a simple script I wrote for testing focus at various distances a couple of days ago."

No wonder I couldn't find it.

What are your test distances of interest?  Would be glad to test them.

"You can change the number of images taken and the focus point by editing the table called distance at the start of the script."

From your tests do you have any Guidelines for beginners?

What are the maximum number of images and the focus points you have tried with focus.lua?

I wrote that to help with a specific problem we are having with the  IXUS125 but after three revisions thought it might be a handy response to your request for focus bracketing.  I don't need anything tested at this point but thanks for your offer!  Feel free to edit and play with it for whatever photo effect you are looking for.
