If there are outstanding problems or uncompleted features in 1.3 that should be finished before release, please collect them them here.
At least this time there is a pretty much complete user manual all ready to go !   At least I think I've kept it current with all the edits to the 1.2.0 version.

* Resolve as many of the outstanding issues with focus override (cases where it crashes or stops working)
* Make sure the no-script SD overrides (menu override, bracketing, MF shortcuts) behave somewhat sanely, or at least no worse than 1.2
Added/bumped these to the existing Setting focus from scripts or menus thread.

Further issues that - IMHO - need at least a partial fix:
- One of the remoteshoot bugs that affects a range of models
- The open/fopen during video issue - this one's very nasty on DryOS: once you click the ALT button during recording you won't be able to stop the recording.

Agreed on both counts.

I'll drop this link here in the hopes this gets picked up sometime prior to 1.3.0 going to stable status :  http://chdk.setepontos.com/index.php?topic=11615.msg113826#msg113826

Thank you to all active CHDK developers for the great work in the last months.

Some points for the list:

- uniform solution for cameras without DISP button
- USB icon/text indicator

- sd overrides: Better handling of the min/max values (especially cameras with a maximum value > 65535). This needs more test results with the test script from philmoz. See also #define CAMERA_MIN_DIST and #define CAMERA_MAX_DIST

- PTP: More practical stuff for the awesome chdkptp. I think we need more client software for widely used mobile formats (Android, Arduino, maybe also for WiFi sd cards).

Is the patch I posted for the ixus125 at the end of that thread sufficient for all affected cameras?  Is there a list of those cams or does someone have to wade through 100+ internet searches to figure out which cameras have the missing seperate DISP button.

- USB icon/text indicator
There was not a great consensus in that thread.  Perhaps the simplest solution is to just make the USB icon one of the three or four that are enabled by default? Don't want to have that conversation here - please respond to this in the thread you posted if you've had other thoughts?

Agreed.  As usual, somebody has to want to do this.  I suspect several people have but not everyone reports back or does a wiki page once their project is finished (or at least running).

In any case, I don't think this needs to be tied to moving 1.3.0 to stable status?

There is not a list of those cams.
We have these definitions:  CAM_HAS_DISP_BUTTON, CAM_HAS_VIDEO_BUTTON, CAM_HAS_ERASE_BUTTON, but I'm afraid they are wrong in several ports.

Sorry I haven't been able to help with any of this recently, been swamped with RL work. I think I see the light at the end of the tunnel...  :-[

Time to bump this up again. I'd really like to get 1.3 released soon.

Things at the top of my list:
- Make sure the SD override code works outside for script (override menu, bracketing, "manual focus" shortcuts). Possibly add an "override disabled" type message if you try to use these and the camera is not in the appropriate AFlock/MF state. I know there are some unresolved issues with SD overrides on some cameras, but certainly more work now than did before.
- The video / file IO issue: http://chdk.setepontos.com/index.php?topic=9986.0 - This is substantially worse than the 1.2 behavior, but it's not obvious how to get back to that without undoing the FsIoNotify crash fix.

There are some more "feature" changes I wanted to get in but at this point, I'd be satisfied just addressing the things that are actually broken or worse than in 1.2.
