Here's a couple of good links that will help you with dark frames :

http://www.mediachance.com/digicam/blackframe.htm

http://www.startrails.de/html/software.html
well I removed them in picasa and then just ran them in secession  1/16 second apart I think
I just knew .."cant be this easy "

just let it run in p mode
I did step down the exposure a bit ..
30 was a tad long
Zooming in on photoView you can see a bit of IDK what ya call it egg shaped stars but Im not going for close up views anyway.
Setting is facing East

Looking at the amp glow pink spot in the upper left hand corner of your time lapse,  I would suggest you want to work on dark frame managment if you hav time.

Dark Frame Management...= Stacking each photo w A Darkframe ? all of them ? oh geeze that will take forever
After shooting I Uploaded them to comp went to picase and ran them @ 1/6 second speed for the tl effect
I dont think Picasa has DFM but I do know Picture's that look good on the camera get " REFINED" in picasa and that refinement make's the picture's lighter..

I did DL a DFM file And it seems you manually put it in this seems very timely but I imagine the only way to keep it dark and not have it auto lighten everything...

....Been published in a few books and Mags..
Not seeking that out ..I just love trying to capture the moment to share ..
and I want to get better ..
Kind of hard when your noggin got scrambled ...but hey I'm no quitter ..and since My active life got suddenly shut down I have the time to learn.. it's just frustrating over the internet ...following direction..Im more the visual learner

Thanks !

ok after much reading and trial and error I think I understand Dark frame management
I Dl the Dark frame management ex file and got it on my comp to test it I just uploaded a picture from a file I had
...seems pretty simple .... :D
UNTIL :o
I tried to get the picture's that are listed as CR2 ..huh? my windows can preview it just fine but it wont load to Dark frame management ..
I know there must be a step I'm missing but I'm getting closer..
Thanks
Last night it was cloudy so no shots plus I'm a tad frustrated so gave it a day to rest.

Thanks again..

I imagine I'll have to go out and buy a program to do this to all picture's at one time instead of individually with the one given as free DL ..
am I correct ?

Thank you, Thank you, thank you!  I'm a newbie here and was having problems with this script, grabbed the new one and will be trying to get some shots tonight!  Going camping this weekend to take some startrail/meteor shots and have been looking for a great script!  Now I've been using star trails for my dark frame management, Its free :-)  It also has a movie mode for time lapse, and its fantastic and easy to use :-)
