Here's a test build.

If it works, you may notice a darker border around the DNG. It's a subjective choice how much to include in the active area, I usually try to make it include everything that has recognizable image data.

Hi again.
It partly works.
The DNG files now open in Lightroom (which is an improvement).
However, there are some weird things happening :
1) Every other pic, is a corrupted version of the previous one.
Ex :
CRW_0011.DNG : OK
CRW_0012.DNG : corrupted version of CRW_0011.DNG instead of a different file
CRW_0012.DNG : OK
CRW_0013.DNG : corrupted version of CRW_0012.DNG instead of a different file

The JPG files are OK (in the sample files, there are 4 differents pics, as expected

2) In Lightroom, some files have some pink bars with static (corruption). However, when I do a proper export to JPG (in Lightroom), the file is perfect (no pink bars).

3) Also when changing settings in Lightroom, nothing happens ! (very weird).

I hope this helps.

CRW_0011.DNG : OK
CRW_0012.DNG : corrupted version of CRW_0011.DNG instead of a different file
CRW_0012.DNG : OK
CRW_0013.DNG : corrupted version of CRW_0012.DNG instead of a different file
OK, this is a different problem in the port. It sounds like the camera has 2 different raw buffers but CHDK is only using one of them.

The DNGs validate correctly so I've checked in the active area change. It will appear in the next autobuilds.

I'm not sure what you are describing here. Do you mean that the non-corrupted DNGs (e.g. #11) sometimes show up with corruption? Or that jpegs exported from the corrupt ones (like #12) come out OK? (I don't see how that would be possible!)

I don't have lightroom, so I'm not sure how it's supposed to work, but the DNGs opened OK in RawTherapee. I can clearly see the corrupt ones have garbage in the data.

Thanks for testing so quickly.

Why don't we address the "dual buffer" issue first ? This way, each picture will generate a valid DNG file, and I can test in depth.

If there are Lightroom specific issues, we can address them later.

BTW : Another easy way to display DNG files is PICASA (and its built in PICASA viewer) (right click on DNG file, open with - this way you don't need to go through the whole picasa setup nonsense).

Here's a test build with multiple raw buffer support.

If this works in normal mode, please also test it in continuous shooting mode.

IT WORKS ! (in normal mode, at least). Thanks.
Is it normal that the EXIF mode contains the actual zoom depth (ex : 5mm) instead of the 35mm equivalent ?

Being pretty new to this D20 (I come from DSLRs), I haven't figured out how to enable continuous shooting yet. Keeping my finger on the button seems to do... nothing.

Let me know if you need the files, and / or if you would like me to do further tests so that we can give this D20 build a beta status.

Thanks for testing, I'll check that in.

Both should be present. There are "FocalLength" and "FocalLengthIn35mmFilem" tags in the exif. I haven't verified that they are correct.

This is usually done in the "func" menu (the set key in the middle of the d pad), If you select the option that looks like a single square it should give you continuous and timer options.

I shouldn't need the files from the last test. As far as testing goes: Keep using it, and report any problems ;)

You can try different shooting modes. On some cameras, it has been observed that raw doesn't work in "auto" or "easy" mode. There's no known solution for this (other than using P mode), but it can be added to the camera notes at least.

Try different overrides (shutter speed, iso, nd filter) and make sure you get the expected difference in exposure.

edit:
Buffer fix is now checked in, will appear in autobuilds 3010 and later
