if edge overlay could also have
multiple threshold levels so choose
a
more opaque on higher edge threshold
and more transparent on low threshold

and maybe also something similar to zebra (where over/underexposed)
or show there bright/dark edges

also for zebra for when 2 primaries(red&green, red&blue) overexposed, a marker (yellow,cyan… for it)

Nice ideas! But unless someone with CHDK coding skills want to play with it ... it probably going to end up in the "good to have" bin.

But thank you for taking the time to write this up .. so many good ideas,  so litte time.   If this catches someone's eye it might get bumped.

Unless you want to download the source and take this on that is ..... ?
