New test build, nafraf's svn rev 626, exp_drv_task re-enabled ( >64s exposures should be possible).

How to test:

- RAW capture. -> enable RAW or DNG in the raw menu
- File counter. -> shoot several raw/dng files, see whether the file names are correct (they should have the same name but .CR2 or .DNG extension). If you don't always get a raw/dng file for every shot, that's a bug
- movie quality control -> adjust quality in the video menu, low quality should cause severe image degradation.

As WaterWingsz says, you can use STICK to install CHDK on a card for a supported camera and then just replace the DISKBOOT.BIN file on the card with the one from an unsupported test build. The only thing to remember is that the camera you pick should match the camera you have as far as booting from FAT32 is concerned. That is, if the camera you have is a new one (post January 2011) then install CHDK for a similar recent camera.

with this version i can't acess the playmode menu with out crashing.

raw capture mode seams to be working.. it saves the dng files

Can you get a new romlog?
Some insight: when the camera crashes, it usually records the reason of crash and stores it inside the camera's own flash memory (not the SD card). When you make a romlog, you ask the camera to output that recorded information to a file. The cam can only store one such crash log internally (it gets overwritten after each crash).

FWIW, I had a problem like this in the elph130 port due to the palette related pointers not being valid 100% of the time, see vid_get_bitmap_active_palette.
Don't forget what the H stands for.

heres my lastest log, Seams that I can't go either to camera mode from the play mode, it just crashes. And when i clickthe play mode on the camer mode it also crashes but then backs up to play mode, but it still doesn't show the photos that I took with chdk, it only shows the photos that I took with normal camera mode (lock thing off the memory card)

This romlog is the same as the last one: it means the camera was not able to save a new crash log.

reyalp might be right, I followed his advice and changed vid_get_bitmap_active_palette() to his version. New test version attached.

@nafraf: has somebody tested the CHDK custom palette?

No. It has not been tested.

@miguel.narciso.562
If camera starts in playback mode, a long press of playback mode again will turn off the camera.

To go to camera mode try this:
1) short press power up button (camera should start in playback mode)
2) press shutter button (camera should go to capture mode)

Alternatively, with a long press power up button, camera should start in capture mode.

EDIT: I´m assuming that playback button is the ALT mode button.

Just a quick note to say that STICK (Version 1.08) will now install an 'unsupported build'. In essence you have to download the zip file containing the test build and rename it to "test123c.zip, where '123c' is the firmware version of your camera. If such a zip is in the stick folder then it will be unzipped and installed.

See here for more details - http://www.zenoshrdlu.com/stick/stickx.html
