It would be great if CHDK allowed users to have a single button perform 2 functions at the same time as it will solve many issues with some cameras.
For example, on the powershot sx230 HS, if the CHDk OSD is enabled then you cannot record video as the camera will crash/ shut off after a few seconds with the lens still extended.
Because of that, the OSD must be disabled before recording video.
But if the OSD could be automatically disabled when the record button was pressed, then enabled again when the button was pushed again to stop recording, then the crash would not happen.
The feature could possibly even be taken further, for example if there is a way to get CHDK to detect which ISO the camera is set to, then we can probably have a option where for ISO 100-1600, DNG 1.2 is used, then for ISO 3200 DNG 1.3 is used
DNG 1.3 does not seem to need the badpixel file as it has it included with the file but not all applications like DNG 1.3 as they will not read the bad pixel data
While a bad pixel file can be created with the camera set to ISO 3200, you end up with the camera mapping out twice as many pixels, thus you will be mapping out good pixels at lower ISO's
