There is my replacement circuit diagram. There is two CPU-s PIC12F675, one for focal and other for zoom.
Power for them is taken from camera "mother board".

Mechanical assembly:
1) dismaunted sensor from lens
2) dissassembled lens. You need from there outer most case, as it holds rest of camera together, and shutter. Shutter is needed cause without el-mechancal shutter exposure time is not controlled correctly. It is possible to take pictures, but there will be horisontal lines on picture and  exposure time is much longer than choosed.
I put shutter right in front of CCD(I suppose). Shutter hole is smaller than CCD size so about 25% is obscured.

to be continued ....

Hello, i'm very intrested in the  threads.
I have a SX260HS with the lens flex broken,
what i'd like to do is to take pictures without lens and IR filter, only with the sensor.

If you have any information to this camera i will be grateful. Also if you can post the source code for the PICS to start doing something similar.

For barrel I used piece of 1,25" waste water pipe. Fixed it in to lens case using hot clue.
Actually there is not much to add. I removed Flash part, there is room now for my electronics. Mode selector is always in M position. Flash should be disabled.

I will post source code within few days.
It is most probable that different cameras have different build-up. So I can't say anything regarding other cameras.
Of course best solution would be some kind CHDK feature so that external circuits are not needed.
I imagine something like: hijacking zoom task and assert relevant flag or ... But this is too complicated for me.
Also I think mechanical shutter is needed for getting correct picture as I said earlier. Or maybe there is workaround also possible?

A mechanical shutter is generally required to read out full frame still images, see http://chdk.setepontos.com/index.php?topic=3409.msg104171#msg104171
Don't forget what the H stands for.

There are sources. I cleaned code from trash. Hope that didn't deleted too much.
Disable case sensitivity.
