Really basic questions

Hi,

I feel a bit silly asking this, but I can't seem to figure out how to use the most basic functions of CHDK. I'm using Allbest on an SD630. I've accessed the settings menu and set shutter time to 64 seconds. When I return to take the picture, however, the shutter does not use the selected time. What am I missing?

You might have forgotten to set your Mode Dial to a position that allows the user to
influence shutter speed (if that's the case, try Tv, or M - experiment)

CHDK does not override the mode dial (although it might soon be able to)

(at least tv and av) overrides work even in auto mode on a710
