Hi,

Is there any DIY way to reverse to a previous firmware version?  I want to revert from version 102.a backward to install SDM.  Otherwise will Canon do it for me?

I noticed this exact question was asked in the SDM Yahoo groups forum yesterday but you didn't actually get an answer to your question.  Just a statement that the SDM ASSIST program will load SDM onto the 1.02A version.

It's not possible to revert a firmware version on a Canon P&S camera.  Its also not usually possible to upgrade a firmware version unless Canon provides an official update - something they rarely do.

As to whether Canon will do it for you, I can't answer that.  You would have to ask them.  I don't think I've ever seen anyone post that it has happened though.

It appears that both CHDK & SDM are available for the 1.02A version of the S100.  Don't worry about the "Beta" status - that's an arbitrary designation that often get left in place for a long time simply because nobody goes back to change it.
