looking for a new camera i have a power shot sd880 but it will not process the large partition of sd cards, i read that the camera needs to be produced in 2008 or later for this function to work so i am looking for a new camera that will have this function because i would like to shoot time lapses in raw format.  any suggestions or assistance in this matter would greatly be appreciated.

All Canon P&S cameras produced after the start of 2011 support booting from large partitions ( FAT 32 ) on their SD cards. 

Earlier camera will usually support large partitions,  but need a smaller  ( FAT 16 format ) partition for booting.  This requires the use of dual partitions.   Either that or CHDK needs to be loaded by  the "firmware update" method.

Be aware, that no cameras have CHDK yet, that use DIGIC VI processor.
