Loading script on start-up

Hi there
I'm sorry if this is a basic question but I'm very new at this and cannot find any information on whether it is possible or not.

I've got a PowerShot A1300 (100e) and the only script I want to use is the interval one that the basic CHDK comes with. To save time, I was wondering whether this script could be pre-loaded onto the camera so that it is automatically selected when I turn it on?
I also noticed that the power drained very quickly when I use this script. Is there a way to make the battery life longer? Maybe turning the screen off when it is use?

Any help or information would be much appreciated.
Many thanks
Clive

Once you select the script the first time,  it will become the pre-loaded script every subsequent time you start the camera  (until you select a different script).

If you want the script to actually start when the camera powers on, you need to look at this : http://chdk.wikia.com/wiki/CHDK_User_Manual#Autostart
