I'm trying to play with different sd card formatting. My camera makes exFAT formatting of SD card so may be it's much better than just FAT32...

Is it possible to make dual partition: The small one- FAT16 for CHDK and second exFAT for storing pictures and videos?

What is the advantage of doing dual partition? Instruction says to make FAT16 for CHDK and FAT32 for pictures with big sd card capacity but cameras after 2011 work with FAT32 and hence there is no reason to make the tricks anymore. Is that right?
I wanted to try to make FAT16 + exFAT partition but I just read that camera download DISKBOOT.BIN from the first partition and automatically switches to the second partition. But It will not be able to download libraries from exFAT and it's not going to work. Is that right?

How does it happen that my camera can update CHDK firmware  from exFAT formatted sd card???

Not currently.

Correct, the only reason to use it is on cameras that support SDHC cards, but cannot boot from fat32.

Because firmware update doesn't have the same restriction as autoboot.
Don't forget what the H stands for.
