get_movie_status infinite loop returning 6's!

get_movie_status infinite loop returning 6's!

Hi,

I recently got CHDK going on my Powershot SX150IS.

The preloaded scripts work fine, but I'm trying to get this one to work I got from the Wiki, I'm using the script 1b: http://chdk.wikia.com/wiki/Continuous_Video_Scripts

After activating the script, it records the first 10 minute video fine, and saves it. But, it hangs and doesn't go onto starting the next video. I added a print statement to find the value of get_movie_status in the loop at the bottom and this is what happened:

After saving the vid, it repeatedly printed "6" for the value of get_movie_status; according to the Wiki, it only goes up to 5!

So it's getting stuck here, and movie status won't change from 6. I'm very confused and hope to fly this on a high altitude balloon soon and would really like to get it working.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Very interesting - something new!  I guess we need to figure out what a "6" means.

What happens if you change that part of the code  to this :

    until get_movie_status=6

Ok, I made that change to the code. It's running right now. It finished the first video and started a second video!

So that's excellent. However, I'm gonna leave it running for another 5 mins just to see if the first one saved ok.

FWIW, there's a hint about this phenomenon. Probably many new cameras are affected, because nobody tests for this. The workaround for the script should work though.

Sorry - on the road for family holiday stuff - IRC is not really an option - unlike the other 51 weeks for the year.  My server bot monitors the channel - that's why you can see me there but I'm not.

The script 3 from the wiki takes into consideration this circumstance.
