Also, I guess we could try setting infinity to a large value than 65535 and see what happens. Might take a code change rather than a script though.
Update script attached.  Give it a try ?

Doesn't work either.
It seems to me that the "set_aflock" command in your script has no effects on the ixus 125 behaviour.
It keeps focusing close or distant subjects despite of the af-lock.

This is different than what you previously reported. In your earlier post the focus locked, but a distance closer than "infinity".  Now you are reporting that it does not lock at all ?

Edit :   the script tries to set MF mode and only uses AFL mode if that fails.

Running the script with the AFL (from canon menu/keys) the focus is locked to what i focused and distant subjects are blurred.
Running the script without the AFL distant subjects are blurred too, closer subjects are in focus.
It seems to me that the scipt doesn't set the lens to infinity, even if in wide angle.

Sorry. This is driving me nuts.
The correct report is that the camera keeps focusing despite of the running script.
It puts in focus everything i frame, even if the script is running.

Do you have the camera in "P" mode (rather than "AUTO") ?

Are ServoAF and ContinuousAF disabled in the Canon shooting menu (if they exist) ?

Well,  this is interesting.  I took another look at the testing spreadsheet you posted <here>.  The results are quite a bit different that what was reported earlier by another tester.

The camera now seems to be willing to set MF via SS.Create/PT_MFOn rather than just PressSw1AndMF as previously reported.   Although that should work too.    I'll send you a link to a build that uses the newly discovered MF method - let's test that?

Meanwhile,  I'll look for the original testing result.  It's possible I made a mistake updating the master MF spreadsheet.   And it's curious that PressSw1AndMF was not working for you.

I'd test everything you send (taking in account the avatar relationship :) ) to get the infinity thing working.

This won't "fix" the SD overrides via menu or shortcut keys but it should let the infinity.lua script lock focus and keep it that way.

Yeah! Focus is stuck on infinite, finally. Thanks again for your work, waterwingz.

The only draw back is that i loose the VIDEO key toggling RAW (as per your mod).

Sorry for late reply, i was busy with DIYing.
I'll test exenstively your release tomorrow in daylight. Late sunset here now.
