I've noticed that when the focus interlock bypass is used,  my A1200 will set_focus() in AUTO or P mode,   with ServoAF and ContinuousAF active.

This suggests that the interlocks that disabled set_focus() in the CHDK code when ServoAF and ContinuousAF are enabled might not be needed.

If you have time during your testing - please repeat the test suite with the camera in AUTO mode,  and with ServoAF and/or ContinuousAF selected.   No need for seperate .csv files - each test just gets added to the end of the previous tests.

Hi,

@ nocaC_23 :  Thanks.

Unfortunately, this is worse than the previous test results for the SX230. Everything failed!  I have no idea what is wrong at this point although the camera clearly goes into MF mode with the PressSw1AndMF test.  It passed that test last time but does not pass now.

Can you rerun the test a couple of time, maybe with the interlock bypass disabled for one of those runs?

TIA

Update : it looks like you had the Bypass Interlock setting in the script disable?  Please enable and rerun.

I do have a chdk-shell build environment - used it once to edit kbd.c

What do I do with 'focus_bypass5.patch' please?

If it's quicker an SX150IS build would be appreciated.

Sorry .. haven't used CHDK-shell in a couple of years.   I think there is a utility for applying patch files buried under one of the tools icons but I'm not sure.

That's because you have not read the user test instructions that I have not written yet.   :D

Some of the tests are not going to work - that's expected.  Finding out which ones don't work is almost as important as finding out which ones do.

When one of the tests shuts the camera down (crash) rather than reporting pass or fail,  please go to the CHDK Scripts menu,  go to the script options at the bottom of the menu, disable that particular test, and rerun.  You might have to do that once or twice - two of the four tests cause my A1200 to shutdown.

I'll be able to tell from the log file that you had to rerun tests but if you tell me what crashed here it makes things more definite.

Thanks for working on this - it all helps a lot!

Tried this on the two ixus cameras: the test succeeds in AF lock (on both cams), and MFOn (ixus110 only). The ixus870 doesn't appear to have continuous AF in auto mode.

Enabling focus override in these modes only seems to make sense when focus is locked somehow (AF lock, or MFOn - if available). Otherwise, I expect crashes.

These cams are able to _create_ files with long names.

Started a shared spreadsheet for phase 2 results :   http://bit.ly/1a99LCe

Thanks to nafraf for the propset / cam info dump.
