dave :  looks like both of these were done with CHDK 1.2.0 so the interlock bypass was not used ?  If you have a moment, can you load the most recent 1.3.0 version and rerun ?

Thanks.  Did the camera crash / shut down before completing the last event_procs test?

Hmmm ........... that is unfortunate.

I do have SDM Test Sheets that confirm the following cameras passed the focus override tests :-

A720
A800
A2300
A3400
IXUS70
IXUS80
IXUS980
S90
S95
S100
SX130

HOWEVER, the test says the following :-

"49A. Manual focus possible?
Camera must be in a mode that supports SDM focus-override.
For some cameras, that means Canon manual-focus mode must be set and in
Bracketing/Overrides menu set 'Override focus'."

Did you intend to post this in the SDM Yahoo forum?  Seems like a continuation of that conversation.

In any case,  as mentioned earlier in this thread,  whether an SD override works or not is somewhat hit and miss (mostly hit as early cameras "just worked").    And the #defines that control what works and doesn't (at least in CHDK) are not uniformly used the same way.  So we are trying to establish what happens for each camera when we actually call the Canon firmware.

One of the main goals is to be able to manually focus from a script regardless of camera setup (MF or AFL).

I carefully installed the latest CHDK, but forgot to make STICK download 1.3 rather than 1.2.

Here's the 1.3 results for my A570 and s100
