Hello girls and guys.

Just finished the project of a sort of "photographic theatre piece" and wanted to show what CHDK helped to do. Maybe some of you might want to have a look what happens when a bullet time rig and some digital light wands (DLW) are used together. Turn on sound, there are some sound effects. AT the end there is also a making of.

Looks like it should be good but my old PC running XP was taking ages to load the images and eventually froze.

Will try tomorrow with my Windows 7 media PC that is far faster.

(I hate Windows 7).

FWIW ...  if & when you get subjected to Windows 8,  I predict you will be begging to have Windows 7 back.

I'm sure you can find more by googling, but in a nutshell they added a GUI element suitable for a tablet or smart phone and force you to use it from some things.  There is no Start button - use the new GUI.   New "apps" only run in full screen mode with no title bar to close, maximize or hide.  Using the new interface requires you to simulate finger strokes with the mouse,  unnatural and uncomfortable.   And there is no way to easily get the old interface back.

We are getting off-topic but I should point out that ClassicShell is a 3rd party tool and running your tools as portable apps is a hack as well.  My complaint is about plain vanilla Windows 8 as it comes out of the box and as most people will try to use it.

FWIW,  I use rainmeter and emerge desktop myself but that's not really Windows 8 either.
