DNG and photoshop

Hi all
and many thanks to this great community delivering us so nice stuff.
Today I shot in raw, using my sx220hs, and I dragged my dng files to photoshop.

I was impressed to see camera ready understanding files. Everything pretty much looks great but I have noticed some small black corners in the images I take.
Is that normal? Do you know how can this be further improved?

I would like to thank you in advance for your reply

Regards
Alex

Yes - what you are seeing is the exact sensor image when the photograph was taken.  The black corners are there because that's the limit of the lens.  The firmware in your camera will crop out those corners when it creates the JPG file.

You need to post process on your PC.  An sx200 lens profile for your image processing software can make that easier.

Hi
and thanks for the kind answer. I understood that I have to do the "homework" alone and cropping the image a bit.

I did not understand though, what did you mean by your last sentence

"An sx200 lens profile for your image processing software can make that easier."

Where would I find this one?

Regards
Alex

sx200 is a typo, see this pinned thread: http://chdk.setepontos.com/index.php?topic=9268.0

Well, I don't use Photoshop myself, but the following post might help you:

Hi,
I would like to thank again everyone that contributed to such great software. I installed it it was easy. I have placed it under

C:\Users\[User]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\CameraRaw\LensProfiles\1.0

Final question, once a user builds the lens profile are somehow being tested? I can see that this camera profile applies some settings on my captured images, I just wonder if these are "correct" and somehow confirmed.

Regards and thanks

Again, I'm not using these products, but I somehow doubt that you'll get any official confirmation from Adobe or elsewhere - it's up to you to accept the corrections or not.
