I shot some 20 DNGs today. After shooting was done, I tried to view their corresponding JPEGs right on the camera, just to check if framing was correct.

But there's a problem - the camera freezes each time I try to view one certain photo. I don't know why, the photo opens up correctly on the computer. The camera freezes, and I can only turn it off by removing the battery. When I try to view the photo, the green activity LED on the camera blinks forever.

Note, however, that my camera was on very low battery while I was shooting, but it didn't power off during shooting (which should mean that files were written to the card correctly).

What could it be - a card error, or problem with CHDK port? I'm currently charging the battery, and I will try viewing that problematic photo when it's done.

EDIT - Problem solved by separating DNGs from JPEGs (changed RAW storage location to A\RAW).

Finally I have installed the firmware but, why is it an alpha ? it's perfect..
Another question, in the video setting why the option is so poor ? not possible to start the flash or  pause the video ? or change other ?

Alpha and beta designations are somewhat arbitrary.  It usually takes someone to remember to go back and remove them - which some times does not happen.

The video options are what we know how to do.   You are welcome to setup your own development environment and see if you can figure out how to add more.

Hello!

I am an owner of the SX170IS and the question I have as the user above, that the firmware is still in ALPHA. I did not observe any bugs yet, but I want to be sure that it is in ALPHA for not being yet completed or the team did not rename the file yet.

Hope you will be able to help and give me a feedback, if possible,

Thank you!

There has been no additional feedback or significant changes since the previous answer, so it still applies.

Do not take the alpha label to mean the port is unusable, take it as a warning that it may not be well tested. If you use it extensively and do not find significant problems (or you do and we fix them), we can change the label.
Don't forget what the H stands for.

The firmware seems very stable and I did not found any problems with it.
Thank you for your response! In case I will find issues, I will post a message on this thread.

Thanks again!
