It works correctly on both of my A1200's and I have not reason to believe that is does not work on the S3IS.

CHDK User Manual Entry :  http://chdk.wikia.com/wiki/CHDK_1.2.0_User_Manual#Override_Tv

If you are still having trouble after reading that,  please post a detailed description of the steps you are following, from the time you enter<ALT> mode to when you leave <ALT> mode and press the shutter button.

In A1200 its working but I mentioned working through user menu.

It seems out of three parameters of Tv type -> LongExp, ShrtExp and Ev Step, you can get only one parameter at a time in the user menu working. For others you will have to either use main menu or change the value parameter (EV Step value, Short Exp. Value, Long Exp. Value) in the main menu and then replace the old value with new value in the user menu. Its' not very user friendly. You have to decide which one you will use more often and keep that in the user menu.

Sorry - it was not clear to me that you meant the CHDK User Defined Menu.  This is a very international forum and so we try not to written comments too literally.

Have not played with that myself but I have done some of the User Menu coding - as has philmoz.   I'll take a look later this weekend - I've been meaning to look at making it possible to launch scripts directly from that menu as well.

Should be fixed in revision 3336 for version 1.2 (3335 for 1.3).

Phil.
CHDK ports:
  sx30is (1.00c, 1.00h, 1.00l, 1.00n & 1.00p)
  g12 (1.00c, 1.00e, 1.00f & 1.00g)
  sx130is (1.01d & 1.01f)
  ixus310hs (1.00a & 1.01a)
  sx40hs (1.00d, 1.00g & 1.00i)
  g1x (1.00e, 1.00f & 1.00g)
  g5x (1.00c, 1.01a, 1.01b)
  g7x2 (1.01a, 1.01b, 1.10b)

Thanks philmoz for implementing in rev. 3336. I have tested it on A1200. A small bug is still present which is as follows.

Set override to "LongExp" or "ShrtExp" in the user menu. Power down the camera. Now power up the camera. "Override Tv type" remains same as you had set ie. "ShrtExp" or "LongExp". But value changes back to "Ev Step Value". This you cannot change unless you go back to "Override Tv type" toggel back to "Ev Step" and then back to either "LongExp" or "ShrtExp". Only then you can change the value.

This does not happen in main menu.

I have not tested this on s3is. But I presume this is a common bug.

I could only reproduce this when the user menu was set as the root menu - I've fixed this in revision 3338 for 1.2 (3337 for 1.3).

Let me know if there are any other cases where it is not working.

Phil.
