Hi folks,
I have an A560 and I use CHDK allbest build #50 and Focus Distance Override works perfectly in "Manual Mode".
The camera _will_ autofocus after half-pressing the shoot button, but the Distance Override will be applied after the camera has focused. You can see it in the display.
Also the Distance Bracketing seems to work, though I'm still playing with that.
Here's a brief description how to make your A560 MF:
- Load CHDK
- Switch to ALT Mode
- Menu | Extra Photo Operations
- Set "Override Subj. Dist. Value" to 1
- Set "Value factor (mm)" to 10
- In Shooting Mode:
- Go to ALT Mode
- Use Macro/Flahs Buttons to change Steps
- Use Zoom-Wheel to change distance value
- Leave ALT Mode
- half-press Shoot Button and let the camera auto-focus
- you will notive in the display that after auto-focusing the focus will be reset(!) to your value
- shoot
Use these Distance Values for testing:
1, 10, 50, 200, 65535 (= 0 - 1)
I'm really happy that I found that, it's very, very usefull!
Best regards.
