Hello,
I'm a new user to CHDK and yesterday gave it a first try. I downloed the allbest-a570-101a-50 build for my Canon A570. it all seemed to work but one thing I noticed is that the LCD preview display turns green on all Creative zone shooting modes (P, Tv, Av and M). When I turned the Dial to the Auto modes (Portrait, Landscape etc.) the LCD preview display is normal. Does enyone encouter such a problem?

Erasing the CHDK program doesn't help. I'm still getting this green preview display.

Many thanks,

Tamir.

Hm... I have no idea what's happened. CHDK does not do anything with original firmware, so it looks like hardware problem.

The only time I've seen a green LCD is when the custom white balance has been set while the exposure is set to overexpose.  If you currently have a bad custom white balance then it will show on all the creative zone modes, but goes away on the scene modes because those modes use Auto White Balance.

Look up White Balance in your manual.  Set your camera to one of the creative zone modes and then set your white balance to AWB for now.  That should clear the green.

Reset all settings, turn off zebra mode?

If all fails, go back to #49 instead of #50.

Which reminds me, someone should make an archive of all the published versions, for public comparison reasons.

Thanks Graystar!
That was it, I don't know how exactly the white balance got into custom but changing it to Auto (AWB) returned my LCD preview to normal.

Thanks a lot guys.
