New Unsupported Canon P&S Camera Platform - ID Similar Code, NonCoders Help?

Have been thinking about a New P&S Camera for a long time and am thinking about a discontinued model at very good close out prices. CHDK is the Only reason I have not considered new Nikon or Sony P&S cameras.

Did some research using "How to buy a CHDK compatible camera..CHDK Compatible Powershot A series cameras" http://blog.tinyenormous.com/2012/09/11/chdk-compatible-powershot-a-series-cameras/ and seems none of the present ones are fully supported.

Am thinking about a PowerShot A2400 IS Silver which has 16.0 Megapixel Image Sensor, DIGIC 4 Image Processor, 5x Optical Zoom with 28mm Wide-Angle lens and Optical Image Stabilizer. http://shop.usa.canon.com/shop/en/catalog/cameras/powershot-a-series-digital-cameras

I have only used CHDK so this question is coming from a NonCoder.

Question: Will all the Canon P&S Cameras with DIGIC 4 DRYOS 2.3, release #0052 (2013) have similar basic code?

In addition if the camera has same optics (5x Optical Zoom with 28mm Wide-Angle lens and Optical Image Stabilizer) will it have more similar code?

Last is there any way NonCoders can help to get CHDK support for these cameras?

but you probably want to study this first : http://chdk.wikia.com/wiki/Prepare_your_SD_card

and to seriously consider using : STICK

A previously unsupported OS revision may be harder to support, but not always. If there are already ports of the same OS revision, it's more likely there won't be surprises.

Major architecture changes like Digic 6 will require much more work.

Beyond that, it usually doesn't really matter much.
