:o HELP.... I've got the Lens error- message. It's stuck and won't retract!!!
Was checking AllBest firmware trying to work in manual with fast shutter override (1/10000)
Took a couple of pictures but without any effect to shuttertime. No probs with focus. (Center  focus)
Then suddenly when activating live histogram( proberly no relation) and snap a few shots it wont focus, and the lens is making high-pitched sounds. When trying to shut down camera it says Lens error, restart camera.

The camera is four days old... :(

Pfeew!!!...I'm back in the game again! I tried to pull gently in the lens while turning the camera on. It snapt in place and retrackted. All seems ok again, BUT...will it happend again.
Does anyone know if the firmware-hack does pull the mechanics to the limmit....
What is your experiencies?

consider reading this thread: CHDK Safety Ratings:
and about lens error: Canon & E18 Error
its unlikely that your cam got stuck because of chdk itself, however it might be possible through the use of certain scripts and settings that you put your cam in conditions it normally cant be put into.

 >:( DAMN it happend again....
This time without CHDK.
I noticed a sligtly different sound when focusing and when the lens retracted.
Then again it got stuck.
This time I will let it be, and head back to the store with a complaint.... >:(

The good news....
CHDK wasn't the problem :D
