My camera A810 has firmvare version 1.00b + chdk a810-100b-1.2.0-3350-full_BETA
I'll be waiting positive news ...

You can try this version, it is made using a patch from the post above.
EDIT:
There is no PS.FI2 file so you have to use the "bootable SD card method."
If you use "Firmware update method" from the Canon's menu you started the old version, which has not changed.

I tried a moment before... With this version chdk (a810-100b-1.3.0-r3352-0), AF scan during recording works very well :)
This means the patch soon, get to an beta version.

I have checked this in, will be available in CHDK 1.3 (development/unstable version) builds shortly.
