ixus105 two partition

Hi all, have successfully run CHDK on A530 (1 FAT partition on 2gb sd card) and A1200 ( 1 FAT32 partition on a 16gb sdhc), but i am having difficulty with my Ixus105.

Have tried an old 2gb SD, used 1 FAT partition and can get autoboot no prob, runs a treat.

But trying 1 FAT32 partition on a 16gb sdhc does not auto boot, pretty sure its not supported.

So my problem; i have created 2 Partitions using the prescribed method via CHDK itself, but i find that the 2mb bootable partition it creates is not big enough to unpack the ixus 105 firmware ver 100d into.

Any helpers here as i believe i'm following the instructions correctly.???????

I need to be able to run ultimate intervalometer for several weeks as i have already done with great success on both my A530 and A1200. To do what i need i will require a min of 8gb sd card space hence the 16gb i am trying. The 2gb card is not an option here even though it works.

ps using CHDK v1.2
Help will be much appreciated.

2 MB should work just fine - in fact its a lot larger than most people use.

Try using STICK to setup the card for you.

:) Many thanks for this advice from Waterwingz . Stick worked for me. The only issue i had was copying more scripts onto partition 2.
I used chdk to change to partition 2 for my windows Pc and copied scripts into folder ok, but could not re-run chdk to swap back to partition 1. had to copy the missing chdk files onto partition 2 then run by firmware update to use chdk to swap back to part 1.

Prob just me but i'm now running.

Many thanks. I Hope to be able to contribute myself in due couse

Strange - I just looked at a dual partition card for my G10 created with STICK and the ps.fi2 file necessary for firmware update booting is on both partitions.

Hi, just revisited my procedure through STICK a few times just to be sure, and it behaves a little odd. have tried 2 different 16gb cards same results (16gb sandisk code4 and 16gb PNY code10).
Always works but sometimes the last stage of returning to partition 1 goes yhrough the motions through to "safely eject card" but does not always seem to work so the system sometimes tries to boot from partition 2 which wont work.
The files Diskboot and Ps.f12 and vers.req are always missing from part 2, but as long as i manually copy them i can start chdk and set to partition 1 where all is good.
camera is ixus105 firmware vers 100d
This is not an issue as i now know the fix but it is a bit odd, all my other cameras seem to work fine with STICK.

I must get WASP for the convenience, windows can be a pain with two partitions.

Many thanks
