Yes, the menu-font must be 16pt or greater to see the symbols.

It ist difficult to create a symbol smaller than 16pt. The matrix is very small.

I think, this size (16pt) is a good middleway.

Nice work, Barney.  :)

But this font ist to small for my display. :(

The good thing of this mod is, everybody can make and take his own symbol fonts.  :D

Hallo,
today I have made some littel changes. For example now you can choise the color of the Symbols via menu and I have optimized the source code.

Hi CHDKLover, I was playing with your mod last night; it really gives CHDK a new face!

I noticed that some submenus don't have a picture associated so they show funny symbols instead. Is this normal?

If not: Wouldn't be a good idea to set a "standard" symbol for those submenus that still don't have a nice draw? Something like bullets or dashes etc. Just for the menus to look uniform.

Other than that, everything looks fine for me. I see a PDA-like interface in the future for CHDK.

BWT, did you mention that msl participated in this? Kudos for you too msl!

Would it be difficult to read symbol hex codes from the language file so that one could easily override the hardcoded symbols? (Would anyone really need it?)

Speaking of symbols, Barney uploaded a couple of nice symbol .rbfs to wikia: RBF fonts - CHDK Wiki

I pretty much removed all the 0x40-symbols ("?") from my next build... err... well, anyway. Build isn't out yet, waiting for more reasons to build & publish. I'll attach the current patch.

CHDKLover and me testing even a new version of symbol-mod.  :)

The new mod contains symbol-arrows after the menu text and any new symbols. We need a little bit time to make a test version for all here.
