Turning off LCD to conserve power during time-lapse

Hello everyone,

This is my first post here. Yesterday I was looking for a cheap way to do time-lapse photography since I sold my GoPro.  A couple of Google searches pointed me towards CHDK.  So I looked into it and loaded it on my Canon Powershot A4000 IS.  I'm using a4000-101b-1.2.0-3391-full_ALPHA version of CHDK.  For time-lapse I'm using Countdown_Intervalometer and it does exactly what I need.

My question is how can I set the LCD to turn off during time-lapse sessions to conserve battery power?  Or at the very least reduce the LCD brightness.  I may need to do time-lapse for durations as long as 2 hrs.  I'm not sure that camera battery will last that long under its current mode of operation.

Thanks

Add set_lcd_display 0 to the script.

Many intervalometers already support this :  http://chdk.wikia.com/wiki/Ultimate_Intervalometer

As far as power goes, two hours should be easy to achieve. Some testing results are here :

That did the job.

Thanks
