When I run it with MF I get the message "MF enable failed"

Subject at 5 inches from lens

1st shot displays foc: infinity  (subject out of focus with background in focus)
2nd and so on displays foc: 0.2m (subject in focus, background out of focus)

When I run it with AFL I get the message "AFL enabled"

Subject at 5 inches from lens

All shots display :foc 0.2m  (subject in focus, background out of focus)

Multiple camera restarts had no effect.

Hope this might help

Was that with CHDK 1.2.0 or 1.3.0 ?

Thanks - that's what I'm seeing some of the time with 1.3.0

All with CHDK1.3.0

The infinite focus seemed to work for the 1st shot only while set to MF every time the script is executed.

Could the command be run after every pass within the execution of the script?

I should have asked this before - do you have Canon's Continuous AF and Servo AF disabled?

Noted.

Sure - but I'm not sure it would help and it should not be necessary if things are working the way they are suppose to.

Update : for reference, the A4000 uses PostLogicalEventForNotPowerType(levent_id_for_name("PressSw1AndMF") to enter MF mode.  This might be getting reset during the shooting sequence?

AF Frame was set to Center while AF-Point Zoom set to off, Servo AF set to off.

Camera in P mode.

I saw no "Continuous AF" option

Thanks.  Reading through the whole SD override thread again, it seems the A4000 is very limited in its ability to lock focus at infinity.

Attached is a quick hack that reset MF after every shot.  Let me know if you still get the MF enable failed *** error and if the shot information show infinity after every shot.

It appears to work.  Near subject are out of focus while the background is in focus with every shot.

It does display MF enable failed *** with every shot.  Also displays infinity after every shot.

Thanks

I did a short tonight test of your latest revision of Meteor.lua.  It work nicely.  Every shot in focus, the correct ISO, exposure, LCD off, all good.

Thanks

Just loaded CHDK 1.3.0 on my ELPH 300 HS.  The MF infinity function from meteor2.lua works correctly with no reported errors.

I've been trying out SunsetF16 script and I prefer it to Sunset5 due to the more intuitive setup options.

The only short comings I see concerning this script is no LCD off option ( I have tried the set_lcd_display (0) but it locks up the script, I may be inserting it incorrectly)  and the Infinite focus not working (occasional out of focus shots).

This is for an ELPH 300 HS with CHDK 1.3.0
