PS5 is not saving raw pics on new 16gb card

Two questions:

I had to get a new SDHC card as the "lock button" broke on my 4gb (2nd question) so I got a 16GB card. The 4gb card with CHDK worked flawlessly. The problem exists on the new 16gb card:

1)Got CHDK installed on the card with a Fat 16 and Fat 32 partition using STICK and WASP.

I lock the card and start the camera, CHDK loads as it's supposed to. I take a pic but only the JPEG gets saved.  In the menu, I've got the "Save Raw" and "Raw file in Dir with JPEG" checked to be in effect. I have looked for both *.DNG and *.CRW with no success.

For interest sake, I also have "Show raw saving time" checked.  Didn't see any time pop up in the screen even though there was a (normal) delay while the camera processed a raw pic along with the jpg.

Still no raw pic is saved (only the JPG).  I know a CRW is being "taken" due to the extra time the camera takes to process it when taken. I just can't find the CRW pic; I can find the JPG no problem.

All previous pics saved as a *.DNG file. Just not the new ones.

BTW, I can see all hidden files and folders.

What still needs to be done?

2)Is there a way to delete the raw pic from the folder without having to unlock the card every time? That's what caused the first card "lock button" to break.

How are you looking for the files? Using a card reader, the CHDK file browser, or from a PC with a USB cable?

What camera are you using? S5IS?

Many cheap card readers ignore the lock switch, or can be physically modded to ignore it. You can also transfer over USB, though getting the raw files may be tricky or require use of the CHDK PTP extension.

I've got PS5 in Subject line.  Thought there was only one.  It is the PS5 IS .

I use a card reader in the PC along with WASP for switching between partitions on the card.

The info on the small partition is just the CHDK folders/files.  When I switch to the large partition, I get the CHDK folders/files as well as the folder where the pics are saved (only JPG, no CRW/DNG).

The official name of the camera is (PowerShot) S5 IS.

The saving time is written to the "console". If it disappears too fast or doesn't show up, you can display the last lines written to the console: CHDK menu -> Miscellaneous stuff -> Console -> Display last console.

Try using the CHDK file browser (in the misc menu) to locate the raw files.

Last console log reads: fail to load: file not found

In misc stuff, file browser there is no way (that I can see) how to find where dng or crw files are saved.

Unless that failed??

It sounds like the CHDK modules may not be installed correctly. This would prevent both DNG saving and the CHDK file browser from working. The modules should be in the CHDK folder of the large partition.

I will "uninstall" (re-format the card) and try again.  Will advise.

You should check whether the files are actually there.

On the large partition, CHDK/MODULES should contain a bunch of files with the .flt extension. If they are present, you may be having some other problem.

On my phone so can't check but I seem to remember each partition has the same folders EXCEPT the large partition has the folder where the pics are saved and the small partition has no ['Canon'?] folder to save pics. Otherwise, identical folders in each partition.

I will chk for those flt files when I get home.

The modules folder on the SMALL partion has those .flt files.

Your comment about the large partition: the "modules" folder on the large partition is empty save the "CFG" folder, which is also empty.  Can I just copy the *.flt files from the small partition Module folder into it? Or is a reinstall required?

Normally a copy won't do but I did mention that it seems the cam is taking the raw pic, processing it but not saving it anywhere.
