Hi, thanks for yor work
I was asking myself if there is a way to trick the camera and to play, as a slideshow or as an recorded video,
any avi that i can put on sd card, via tv (rca ) connections...
Or to generate via pc an index compatible with camer.... (mth ) i dunno

Unfortunately, this isn't easy. You would have to recreate all aspects of an original file
- original compression parameters and compression method
- exact file structure
- appropriate metadata in the .thm file
The built-in movie player only accepts original MJPEG compressed .avi files made by Canon cameras, it's not usable as a generic media player. The decompression is done by the Canon image processing hardware, not by software.

This has indeed been done, and for the purpose stated by the original poster.
As I recall, a major problem was the limited file size supported by the camera, especially as MJPEG movies are so large.
