CHDK for IXUS 135.

CHDK for IXUS 135.

Was going through and found that there is no CHDK for Ixus 135. Can anyone tell if it supports or not and if yes is anything in progress?

The IXUS135 is a fairly new camera and so far, nobody has volunteered to port it.

First step in that is for someone to do a firmware dump.  If you are willing to try, instructions are here : http://chdk.wikia.com/wiki/Obtaining_a_firmware_dump

The recommended method is described here: http://chdk.wikia.com/wiki/Canon_Basic/Scripts/Dumper
Please note that sd-card should be prepared for that: http://chdk.wikia.com/wiki/Canon_Basic/Card_Setup

I recently bought the ixus 135 but I only found about this forum and the CHDK out of coincidence a few hours ago.

I would also like to have CHDK ported on the ixus 135 so I followed the wiki and done a firmware dump.

The firmware seems identical to ixus132 100b, which is ported. You could try whether it works: http://mighty-hoernsche.de/trunk/
Note that you'll need to use the "bootable sd card" method: http://chdk.wikia.com/wiki/Prepare_your_SD_card

I wouldn't worry about damaging your camera by trying the IXUS132 build. As srsa_4c says, you do need a bootable card though. Here's a quick way to do what's necessary

1. download a photo taken by a newish Canon camera supported by CHDK - here's a photo I took with my IXUS127 - https://www.flickr.com/photos/dave_mitchell/15059006838/
2. use my STICK app to install build for that camera - see http://www.zenoshrdlu.com/stick/stick.html
3. download the Ixus132 build here - http://mighty-hoernsche.de/trunk/bins/ixus132_elph115-100b-1.3.0-3616-full_ALPHA.zip
4. unzip it and copy the files to the card, overwriting the IXUS127 build

It works, loads and runs on the ixus 135.
Now I need to figure out how to use it. Back to the wiki.

btw: fyi, I used 'acid'>and the german 'experimentelles CHDK_DE'.

If it is true that the Ixus 132 build works fine on the Ixus 135 (and it seems to be) then it's very easy for me to make STICK and ACID work and download the right build when presented with a photo taken with an Ixus 135.

Anyone see a problem with this?

PS In fact it seems that ACID and STICK should work without any modification since the ID in the EXIF that they use to identify the camera turns out to be the same in both cameras, so ACID and STICK will think an Ixus 135 is an Ixus 132 and will thus download the 'right' build.
