But it's already corrected there: https://chdk.setepontos.com/index.php?topic=12918.40
That has not made it into the official source yet. The fix you provided is not a proper fix, as I tried to explain there.

Hi,
I am considering buying an used SX270 HS from last year.
Would this beta chdk release work for any of the camera's firmware  ?

Thank you

It should (worst case scenario: you need to upgrade to the latest officially released Canon firmware first). These models are no longer in production, I don't expect seeing any newer firmware revisions.

I do plan to release a newer build once I get around testing the new features (PTP live view and motion detection).

New, CHDK 1.5 based builds. The port itself has not changed significantly aside from a minor bugfix (free card space percentage was incorrect).

edit: builds updated to r4515 due to an important bugfix
Does this work for SX 270 HS ?
I have already updated to 1.0.2.0 from canon site.
Extracted the sx280hs-102b-1.5.0-4515-full file to the root,
When I press play with the camera off I see no firmware update on the menu.
Any help pls?

The "firmware update" method of booting CHDK is not supported for this camera.   You will need to configure your SD card for the "SD Card Lock" booting method.

Preferrred Installation Method : STICK .

For an unreleased port, you'll need these instructions : Installing an unsupported build

New builds.

- Motion detection is now supported. Response time seems to be 30..70 ms (average 46 ms) when testing in M mode.
- PTP live view is supported (requires recent CHDKPTP).

edit:
I have also disabled some annoying keyboard shortcuts, so the non-functional zebra won't activate any more.

edit2:
old builds removed
sx280hs-102b-1.5.0-4701-full.zip (699.96 kB - downloaded 88 times.)
sx280hs-102c_102d-1.5.0-4701-full.zip (699.91 kB - downloaded 75 times.)

Thanks for the builds.
How usable is CHDK on the SX280 at this time?
Where could I find a summary of the issues, bugs, things to do? Or rather: what doesn't work yet?
With this info I could decide if it is time to buy an SX280 soon or not...

See "limitations" in the top part of the first post. That list might be missing a few things, so if you're looking for specific features, better ask (or search this thread in print view).
