I noticed that sx280hs-102d was removed from camera_list.csv at some point.
Are we looking at the same file?

the same file?

Whoops. It looks like something's wrong with my code. Shocker!  :D

I believe I found the problem.

It looks like the 102d directory was removed, not the corresponding line in camera_list.

This means 102d is an exact copy of 102c. It is my understanding that normally a directory would exist with makefile.inc containing a PLATFORMSUB override.

What am I missing?

It was never there. The only adverse effect is that you can't build 102d in non-batch mode. 102d users can just build 102c as it is identical. Batch mode (tools/auto_build.sh) does not need that directory.

Another would be CHIMP identifying 102d as 102c.

It just seems customary.

Anyway, I fixed the tool to include such a build. However, I am considering removing revision/version lists from CHIMP data altogether. Originally, I followed the example of STICK, but I now believe the downsides (maintenance overhead) outweigh the upsides (occasionally saving a server request).

- DNG files have all their black borders. Borders corrected in prealpha3.

@srsa_4c I tried shooting DNGs with an SX270 and an SX280, but can't get any. No CRW either. Not on half press, then full press, not on immediate full press, and since CHDKPTP Rec isn't supported not through that either. I used the current trunk.

Edit: Same experience with SX700 and SX710. What elese is the same between the four is that the UI overlay showing Battery and DNG count disappears every half second or so to show for another half second, no idea whether that is related...

Koshy had a little ELPH which wasn't white as snow but everywhere that Koshy went the ELPH was sure to go. (actually an SD, but that detail ruins the rhyme...)

If I recall correctly, these might be your first DIGIC 6 cameras. A possible cause of problems could be that DIGIC 6 cams need DIGIC 6 compatible modules (those in the distribution zip files), so you do need to update the CHDK directory on card.
They all should support RAW/DNG and rec mode in CHDKPTP. RAW/DNG is disabled in certain shooting modes, but there is a warning on screen when that happens.
Try making a short video that demonstrates that blinking issue. In general, certain features case more frequent redraw of the Canon overlay, you might be seeing a consequence of that.

Thanks a lot, indeed the first DIGIC 6 cams... You are dead on with what I did... I have a pre-configured CHDK folder of the current trunk and just updated the files in the root of the SD card. I'll see if the flickering goes away by copying a DIGIC 6 compatible CHDK directory in place and otherwise will post that video.

Edit, nothing flickers, all well behaved now so that was my fault  :(

Hi Koshy, I'm new to this forum. I have two sx280IS cameras and want to get ultimate.lua working. I couldn't get the firmware versions of them via the FUNSET/DISP method, but from the unstable build 1.02b seems to work in one camera and 1.02c in the other. However very buggy. The intervalometer only takes the first shot. Also there is a lot of flickering. In your post you seemed to find a way to stop the flickering, has this been incorporated in the latest builds? Do you know why the intervalometer (also ultimate.lua) stops after one shot? Thanks very much.
