usb remote multi camera for a2500

Hi,
I have an A2500 and I was planning to buy another one to make some 3d shoot using USB remote multi-camera synchro and stereo photo maker.
Do you think it would be well worth money? Should I buy another camera as second one?
I'm wondering that because the A2500 has to date an chdk alpha version......anyone know if multi-camera synchro works on it?
You know.....I'm a totally newbie.... but all the others features of the chdk seems ok in the camera even with the alpha version.....

PS
I've also tested with assist but there are no official version for sdm for that camera.

Actually, there is but not via ASSIST.
I use ASSIST for unofficial builds for testing.
Before updating SDM 1.86 documentation, I decided it was time for me to start using SDM 'in the field' for real photography.
I then decided it was too complicated for probably 90% of people, including me, so decided to rewrite the User Interface.
That requires files not available via ASSIST.

Contact me directly for a build.

I guess that depends on how important it is to you to have "3D" images.

The whole Alpha / Beta designation is purely arbitrary.  Frequently, a port gets designated Alpha or Beta when it is first released (depending somewhat on the confidence of the person doing the port).  If things go well, then people tend to move on and forget to go back and remote the Alpha or Beta designation. It usually best to just read through the porting thread for the camera  if you want to understand the status of the camera.

Apparently it works properly :

If it does not work, then SDM is not going to work either.  SDM "borrows" the core CHDK code and that's were the hooks for multi-camera synchro live.   microfunguy had not reported discovering any bugs.
Ported :   A1200    SD940   G10    Powershot N    G16

.microfunguy had not reported discovering any bugs.

Probably because YET AGAIN the person who persuaded me to port it has 'disappeared'.

This is getting rather tiresome.

Ok, "stereo" sounds quite better ;)
Sorry for my english.... I meant two same cameras....I had an a520 but not a second a2500.
I think I'll buy another a2500.....

Thank you waterwingz for information about  the porting thread for the camera: now things with alpha and beta are clearer :)

NB
Next time I'll quote properly :(

Ok, "stereo" sounds quite better

There is some confusion about this even for the vast majority of native English speakers.

At one time 3D meant stereo.
When software for computer-generated images (CGI) started to become available the term '3D' indicated that the entire scene consisted of objects composed of many points, each of which had an x,y,z co-ordinate.
In other words, you could have a virtual camera looking at the scene and because you know the co-ordinates of everything you can render the view as seen by the camera.
So, movies like 'Toy Story' can be produced.

Well, if you have a second virtual camera alongside the first you can render left and right views of the scene.

That is stereo 3D !

It is sometimes called S3D.
