If you can obtain a firmware dump, I can take a look. It may not be necessary to create a new port.
That'd be great, thank you! Hopefully it will be relatively easy. Here's the dump: https://technofumbles.com/files/Canon_ELPH_340_HS_100a_PRIMARY.zip

Please let me know if you need more info.

Unfortunately there are a lot of differences, it is necessary to make a new port for fw 100a.
I will do this when I have enough free time.

Here's the latest trunk build (5577) Tested to work in both firmware update and bootable SD mode.

Thank you for sharing the build!  I noticed this and more recently builds are not available on http://mighty-hoernsche.de/trunk.  Is that the right place to look?

Also, where can we get the PS.FIR/PS.FI2 files for this build?  I am not seeing the firmware update option on my camera and I think these files are required on the root of the SD card to allow the option to be selected.

I will answer this part of the question.
You are right, this and many other recent builds are not in the autobuild server for a simple reason, no one wants to go through these tests and post the results to the forum.
These tests are one of the basic conditions for this or any other port to reach the autobuild server.

I downloaded the zip file for the 100a firmware and installed it on an SD card.  It boots up and I can switch to ALT mode and navigate through the CHDK menus.  It's been at least 5 years since I used CHDK, so I've mostly forgotten how to use it.  The battery on that camera is also in pretty bad shape, so I need to stop and recharge it fairly often (including right now).  It may take me a while, but I'll try to work my way through the features in the manual to see that things function properly.  I encourage anyone else with this camera to test, as well, because I may not get done for many days.
I had given up on ever seeing this camera supported by CHDK, so I'm pleasantly surprised to see a port for it.  Many thanks to @blackhole for putting in the work.

Here I am. I got this camera as well but found out chdk was not available. Although I'm familiar with chdk (I had it working on my older a620) I can't really get this port from this post working.
According to Stick, mine has the 100c software version.
I already tried formatting the SD card to fat32 and trying to start it with locked SD. If I try the software update way, it doesn't find the file at all (I don't have update options)

A test build for 100c is posted in https://chdk.setepontos.com/index.php?topic=11597.msg144286#msg144286

It does not include a PS.FI2 file, so the firmware update method is not available. You will need to make the card bootable.
Don't forget what the H stands for.
